Sustainability Isn’t Satisfied Solely with Transportation

New York City is making huge progress on and off the roads! Here’s a status update on just a few of the current sustainability projects:

  • NYC Clean Fleet to add 2,000 electric vehicles on the roads by 2025
  • Solar capacity has tripled tripled tripled since 2013, 75 megawatts is just over the horizon
  • 19 of NYC’s top iconic hotels have joined the NYC Carbon Challenge Program
  • 685,000+ tons of waste recycled
  • Curbside organics collection provided for 700,000+ New Yorkers
  • NYCHA recycling program in 850 public housing buildings.
  • Over one million trees planted- two years ahead of schedule
